My husband is a victim of identity theft and it is obvious that the stuff isn’t his because he doesn’t even live wherever the things are from.
He went to file a police report but they said he needs documentation and the bills. How can he get that stuff if he doesn’t know who it is and he only found out from a copy of his report? Also the companies claim that he needs to file a report….but he doesn’t know the persons name?
How does he go about this? What should he do?

If so, have you heard about Pre-paid Legal Services…What do you think about it?

My aunt received a letter stating that her credit is in jeopardy because of a high balance on her credit card. The thing is, she has never owned a credit card! What, if anything, can I help her do?

My mom was a victim of Identity theft. They stole a total of $1300 from here accounts, some how using her debit card in Las Vegas, and we live in Los Angeles. She has proof that she was in state the day the transactions took place. What steps shoul she take to collect the money stolen. She has been back and forth to the bank, and at first they said it could take 7-8 days, now there telling her, it sometimes takes up to 90 days. Is this possible? Is there a chance that she will not get the money back at all? After filing a police report, what should be her next step. I feel that they are giving her the run-areound. This has happen to me, but with a credit union. I got the money back real quick. Thanks to anyone who answers.

The credit card company is coming after him. But he NEVER applied for a card with them. The first thing they knew about it was when the card company called them and asked for payment for a total of $3,000 plus charges made on the card. He already filed a police report on identity theft. Can you tell me what are the steps he’s supposed to do now? He is an old man and very weak. And this is not helping his health any. The card company keeps calling. What are the things we need to do to resolve this and to avoid anymore of this in the future?

What should you do if you suspect your identity has been stolen? I called Victoria’s Secret and they are telling me that I owe over $500 and that they have an address for me in North Carolina (which i don’t) I don’t know what to do.

If so, how was your information obtained? How much was lost? How long did it take you to recover, and was the recovery complete? Was there any prosecution?
