Today, I received a call from a man claiming to be from TIAA-CREF. He said there were discrepancies in my SSN and then rattled off a SSN. I didn’t respond yes or no but said that I would contact TIAA-CREF directly to resolve any problems. When I contacted them, the TIAA-CREF call center said no employee would ever call me about my SSN. Would it be a good idea to put a fraud notice on my credit report immediately? To make matters more complicated, I am right in the middle of applying for a mortage to purchase a home and I don’t want that process screwed up.

I pulled my credit report through a company called Identity Guard and in it it contains background information and according to that I was arrested and charged for drug posession a felony in the state of Arkansas I have never even been to Arkansas and that definately was not me I live in Ohio. I dont know what to do to find out if this is a mistake on the part of Identity Guard or if someone has stolen my Identity. I called Identity Guard but am just getting the run around from them and my local police department will not help me until I can prove this is really listed under my social. I am going for a great job interview on Saturday and am afraid I wont even be called back If this does show up on my background check. Arkansas is not a public information state and they want you to pay for everything. I dont know where to begin Please Help

In 2004 I found a charge on a MBNA credit card of over 16,000 on my credit report. It was not mine.I contacted the CC reporting companies. They said MBNA said it was mine.
I contacted MBNA.They had no information on me at all, I called and called. (The short of it, was it belongs to someone else with almost my same name in another state). MBNA crossed out that persons name and put mine.Anyway to make this short, they asked if I wanted to take this to Arbitration, I said yes.I won the arbitration case. Then MBNA was bought by Bank of America who then tried to open this case up in The National Arbitration Forum, however, again I won that case and The National Arbitration Forum said it would not open this back up and the order stands. However, my problem is, I can’t get this off my credit report.I wrote MBNA/Bank of America and they will not take this off. What can I do? How can I get this off? Any advice would help as I am frustrated.

I recently got mails send to me under a company name which i have never heard of from credit card companies. This is not some spam e-mail, they are from different credit card company. Not bills, just invitation to apply. However, I’m conserned because I never heard of this company that these mails linked me with. Is it possible for some one using my name to register a company that I never knew it excited? Is there anyway to check the legal owner of a company online?
no credit report will review an company that has registered under my name, unless such company have been used to apply for a credit line. Please tell me more about checking legal owner of a company instead telling me to get a credit report. Thanks!

I am trying to understand if someone has an identity theft - would it show on their credit report?
Or if this person is saying that they have an identity theft - how can they prove it is true - are there any papers or receipts one gets when they report an id theft?
Thank you in advance!

Here’s the scenario: Someone used your name and ssn# to sign up for and make purchases that required credit approval. Things were not paid for and have created debt and impacted your credit negatively. If you were to report these negative items as fraud to get them off of your credit report, what consequences would this person face? And wold this person have to faces the charges held against them in order to clear your credit report and debt?

I mean; By all means steal it!, take the 120 credit report, delinquent student loan payment, the various misdemeanors for public ****** and the restraining order my neighbor placed on me for launching his own dogs pooh, found in my yard, and consequently thrown into his jacuzzi.
