A few year ago I ordered some diet pill off the internet. I know not very bright, in my order I included my address telephone and other information. I am still getting spam and pone call from at least a dozen other companies five years later. The company I made the order with has long gone out of business. I think Congress needs to do more to protect the public and the consumer. What do you think.

I am sick of the threat against my future by someone getting a hold of my government issue SSN and using my good credit to steal from me. This affect everyone.

Why isn’t it incumbant on Credit companies to verify with exact certainty who they are actually issuing credit to? Why is it not required in this day and age of high tech security to make damn sure when giving credit you know exactly who you are giving it to? This is an issue that affects millions directly and all of us indirectly.
No I have not been a victim of this crime yet, but by brother was. I now pay to protect my information.

My mother has committed identity fraud against me about 6 times now, knowing that I am still young, trying to graduate from college, and barely make any money. Yesterday I found out for the 6th time. I have been trying to forgive her and I excused the first 5 times and paid the bills off, but I am getting so angry and frustrated over this! She is such a scam artist and a huge liar. When I confronted her, she acted like I was the crazy one and I shouldn’t be mad! ———-I’m getting to the point where I just want to prosecute her because she just thinks I’ll pay this one off and excuse it again. I don’t think so!! What do you think I should do???
Thanks soooo much everyone! You all have been so very helpful!

I just found out that my husband’s ex wife who is on a vendetta against us (he divorced her 14 yrs ago and only met me 2 yrs ago, so there’s no reason for this) has had access to my social security number and all my personal info. (They’re in the middle of another court battle and she somehow got it) What can she do with this and what can I do to protect myself?
There are really chat forums around where people exchange social security #’s??? Ohmygosh!!!

Ok my wallet got stolen out of my car this past weekend and in the past 10 hours or so ive had about $200 worth of charges on my debit card. turns out a couple of them are marine corps checks that were cashed and i got charged the processing fees. they also took my entire book of cds with about 60 cds or so. so i imagine that alone is another $700 or so. what kind of criminal charges would this person be facing? and does it make it any worse for him that he is a marine. the charges on my card do leave a trail from my town out to the coast at camp lajeune where the marine corps base is
i have already canceled the cards and filed a police report. i have also contested the charges with my bank.

I mean; By all means steal it!, take the 120 credit report, delinquent student loan payment, the various misdemeanors for public ****** and the restraining order my neighbor placed on me for launching his own dogs pooh, found in my yard, and consequently thrown into his jacuzzi.

I really wonder specifically whether my bank with it’s protections (and fine print) has a better likelihood of preventing fraud or do the Experians of the world provide a quicker way of determining this

A family member of mine got credit through using his brothers ss# which is 1 off of his. Now he is defaulting on the credit and they are coming after his brother.
If he claims it was a mistake b/c its only 1 number off will they still get in big time trouble?!
