NOW WHAT?
I contacted the credit bureau
I contacted the companies to ensure that the accounts were closed.
I filed a police report.
I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

What now?

My wife came to U.S. 2 years ago and got issued her SSN last October 07. Yesterday, we just found out that her SSN got linked to 3 different SSN with a series of delinquencies from way back when. The credit file also has a different date of birth.

At this point, I know the steps to clean up this mess and currently following it by contacting the credit bureaus and social security admin. However, I’d like you to help me understand in what way it could possibly happen. I’d like to be educated, and maybe it helps someone else to understand more about this as well. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Okay, im a little paranoid. filling out job applications and signing up for the ACT online both ask for my social security number. how do i know that a worker at the job i am appling is not going to see my ss# or the boss wouldnt use my ss# to steal my identity? is your ss# the only thing thefts need to steal your identity? what else, if anything, do they need (other than ss)?

I posted my contact details at alibaba.com. Now I’m getting all sorts of mail and fax messages from different countries confirming different kinds of import/export transactions that I didn’t make. I’m afraid they could be using my identity to enter into illegal or scam transactions. Who can I run to for help?

I’ve asked alibaba.com to remove my name from their website, but they do nothing, not even a reply.

Need some opinions for my class I ‘m in.

How is it stolen?
How do you prevent it from happening?
How can you resolve identity theft?

Thank you for your help… :)

2 1/2 years ago, I applied for credit under my name and my current husband’s name. I did not realize that for my husband’s SSN, I put my ex’s. The rest of the information on the application was that of my husband’s and mine (address, telephone number, work information and my SSN). Two months after the incident, my ex called me and informed me that the inquiry was on his credit report. I explained that it was an accident and I did not to it intentionally. He told me that he would not press charges and would deal with it. Fast forward to today, and I am trying to go to court to obtain child support payments from my ex and he states that if I do he is going to press charges against my husband and I for what I did. He did tell me that he already disputed the incident and it is no longer on his report but he has paperwork that he can use against me. The credit application was denied and I received nothing and charged nothing. This was a one time incident, and as hard as it may be to believe that it was a complete accident. Can he really charge me with identity theft and if so what will happen?

saying that the Catholic Church was not the first Church but, their’s was? Don’t they know the Catholic Church was the ONLY Christian Church for at least 1,200 years? Who do they think they are? Like in Job, where were they when the martyrs were dieing in the arena? Those were Catholic Saints who gave their life for the Universal Faith that the Catholics hold dear, and have recorded in the Bible for the so called “Christians” to turn around and denounce? You people have got alot of nerve—no conscience— but alot of nerve!
You can SAY anything but, the facts are the facts and the Catholic Church was the beginning—get into the early Church Fathers and you will see the same faith today as then

Has anybody dealt with identity theft. Its lookin like somebody may have used my SS# to claim me on their taxes. This is why I am not getting a stimulus check
